Our Montana Enhanced Concealed Carry Class is offered to obtain the Montana Enhanced Permit. This is should not be your first or only class. If you’re not familiar with shooting a handgun, this may not be the class for you to begin. There will not be a great deal of teaching how to shoot a handgun in this class. Knowledge and skill of safegun handling of a handgun is mandatory. If you have little to no experience shooting, please see our other classes or contact us.
In addition to the Standard CWP, Enhanced Permit gets you: Delaware, Minnesota, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Washington for Recognition/Reciprocity.
The textbook "USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense" is available to purchase for $30.00 ($35.00 retail); we STRONGLY recommend purchasing and read Chapters 1, 4, & 5 prior to class; can be purchased from Sportsman & Ski Haus Customer Service or Gun Dept. Upon successful completion, you MUST pass the shooting portion, you will be given a frame-worthy course completion certificate that certifies your graduation from this course to apply for the Enhanced Permit. The minimum number of students for this class is five (5); we work with private groups as well.

Schedule at our facility: We begin teaching at 8:30am and will complete around 4:30pm. We ask that you arrive between 8:10-8:15am. We do not have any food service places to eat lunch, so bring a lunch. We will break approximately every 60 minutes.
Required gear:
Classroom - Government issued identification, note taking materials (laptops ok), good attitude and open mind. Please bring your lunch, snacks and anything you want to drink other than coffee and water. Regardless of time of year, please bring a warming layer (sweatshirt, fleece, etc).
Range - Handgun, min 350 rounds of ammunition (brass cased FMJ), at least three magazines for pistols (low capacity at least five), ANZI rated wrap around eye protection (SSP Eyewear recommended), electronic hearing protection, cover garment, and appropriate dress for the season/weather. If you lack any of the above gear, please don't let this dissuade you from taking the class. Contact us to assist you with making any specific gear arrangements or questions regarding gear. *** The Course of Fire requires a minium of 202 rounds fired. We encourage more in the event that a student doesn't pass the qualification and there is time to shoot it again. ***

This course is four (4) hours in-length suitable for everyone who is wanting to carry pepper spray, understand affects, employment techniques, and much more. This is class is also approved for four (4) hours of Continuing Education Credit for Real Estate Agents.

USCCA Essentials of Trauma & Stop the Bleed

This course is five (5) hours in-length suitable for everyone who is wanting a medical course in controlling trauma bleeding. This class is taught by a certified EMT (Bio below).
Certificates from both USCCA and American College ofSurgeons. There is a lot of hands-on in this class; Tourniquets (TQ), Chest Seals, and Wound Packing.
This is NOT your standard First-Aid Class. If you can make ahole in someone, you need to be able to plug/patch a hole in someone ... who could be YOU or YOUR family member.
LOTS OF HANDS-ON: TQsare applied on self and each other; when there is no "blood"
squirting and when there is (using water). Applying TQ in lowlight on extremities (arms & legs).
Chest Seals are applied to a realistic wound that hassimulated blood oozing out of it. How to prepare to apply and applying an actual chest seal. Wound Packing is done with real clotting gauze using simulated blood which can clot.
You will feel what it is like and see the results of yourapplication of the skills you are learning.
We also cover what to consider when building your own Traumaor Trauma/First-Aid Kit (Bag).
There are a lot of items handed out that are part of theclass. Available for purchase: USCCA Emergency First Aid Fundamentals Books and we plan to have personal trauma kits with quality gear.
On a nice day we may conduct the wound packing outdoors. Allfake blood used washes out of your clothing if any happens to get on them.
These classes are small, up to eight, and may only be heldonce or twice per year. If you see this class is scheduled, I encourage you to take advantage.

Chief Instructor of this class:Ron Wenzel is adecorated police officer with over 24 years of honorable service. Mr. Wenzel
was a police officer with the Lincoln Park Police Department (NJ) where he had served as a patrolman, Emergency Medical Technician, SAR Diver, SRT Medic and supervised the department Emergency Service Unit. Mr. Wenzel retired from the Lincoln Park Police Department in May 2014. His awards include multiple Life-Saving Medals, Chiefs award, Multiple Achievement and Honorable Service medals and the 200-Club Award of Valor.Mr.Wenzel's field experience and college education has evolved him into a very resourceful tool for the law enforcement and military communities. He has excelled as an instructor and has taught countlesscourses to police, fire, EMS and military personnel. Since 2005, Mr. Wenzel has devoted much ofhis spare time instructing the military’s Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Tactical CombatCasualty Care (TCCC) guidelines, in an effort to decrease preventable deaths, to Specialized Tactical Units across the country.
In an answer to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Mr. Wenzel enlisted in the United States Coast Guard Reserve where he is assigned to a New York Harbor Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection unit. Servingas a team leader, trainer, boarding team member and tactical medic, Mr. Wenzelalso headed acommittee to implement a tactical medic program into the unit. Mr. Wenzelplayed an essential partin the Coast Guards current tactical medic and combat first aid programs. Mr. Wenzel was alsoappointed, as an instructor, to the Coast Guard’s Patrol Forces Southwest Asia (PATFORSWA)Combat First Aid Training Team and the Training Team East Predeployment Training Teamlocated in Portsmouth, Virginia. Mr. Wenzel is a military veteran with service in New York, New Jersey, Virginia,Louisiana, North Carolina, Kuwait and Afghanistan.
More recently, Mr. Wenzelserved as a Senior Sales Account Manager for QuikClot (Z-Medica/Teleflex) products from 2014-2022 and currently is the Senior Product Sales Manager for Luna Labs TrueClot Hemorrhage Control Training products.

The USCCA Basic Handgun class is a six-hour course that goes beyond the typical basic gun safety class. You will learn proper pistol shooting fundamentals such as aiming, grip, stance, trigger control, and more! No prior firearms experience is required.
Topics covered: Self-Defense Firearm Basics, Defensive Shooting Fundamentals, Basic Handling Skills, and Range Etiquette. At least 1 hour will be dedicated to live fire shooting and we provide firearms, ammunition, eye & ear protection.
This course is designed as a beginners courses that will prepare you for more education and training.
Goal is to guide you through the most important topics of concealed carry.

This course is five (5) hours in-length suitable for everyone who is searching for a class to not become a victim of violence. This class is appropriate, and encouraged, for youth.
Goal is to develop safe practices of reducing the chances of becoming a victim of a violent crime while understanding the psychological and physiological changes the body will go through during an attack. Additionally, we cover the legal use of force at an attorney level, but in plain english.
Benefits you to have a better understanding of your potential as a victim of violent encounters in your daily routine and when at home. You can better protect self and family through the recognition techniques taught and avoid violent encounters before they begin or to escape after they've begun. Additionally we will discuss the physiological and psychological changes your body may experience in a violent encounter. Understand what legal requirements you will be judged against.
It is highly recommended to purchase the textbook and read prior to class; Chapters 1, 4, and 5 only. The book title is USCCA CONCEALED CARRY AND HOME DEFENSE FUNDAMENTALS.
